portraitist
The basis for my work as a professional portraitist is
formed by numerous portrait studies that I continued doing for as long
as I am painting. Painting
these oil sketches I am able to experiment in total freedom. When
I paint a commissioned portrait I have to deal more or less
with the wishes and ideas of the commissioner. Nevertheless I try to create as much freedom as possible
to create my own vision. That freedom is a necessity to
achieve something of value and to enjoy my work.
